A new-design 3.5-liter V-6 replaces the 3-liter V-6 in Zephyr. The new engine is more powerful, quieter, smoother and much more fun. It gives up just one mile per gallon to the smaller Zephyr engine. That engine's not available in two less-expensive Ford Motor vehicles similar to MKZ, the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan.
The Milan is available with four-cylinder and V6 engines. The V6 gets an EPA-rated 29 mpg on the highway and comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, a rarity in this class, that gives both better acceleration and better fuel economy than a five-speed automatic.
